Weekend Comments

Hi Everyone,
I hope you have had time to read and study along with us this week. We've been looking at scripture that speaks to us about God's "Nature"; His qualities and personality, and how that relates to our confidence in Him. Prayer is still the main focus, but we have to "know" God before we have "confidence" in Him. Then our confidence in God translates into "effective prayer".

Version: NAS

James 5:13-16

13. Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. 14. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15. and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. 16. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Remember, if you haven't read or have missed out on any of the daily posts, please comment here on the weekend comments. That way everyone else will get an opportunity to read and share.

I have a little more in this study on prayer, but I'm letting God lead me on what He would like us to discuss next. I've mentioned it before, but if anyone has questions or topics that you are interested in please let me know. I'll be open to see where they might lead. I want to keep this Bible Study relevant, and I know God can surely do it.

I'll be checking back in throughout the weekend. Have a great one!

love,
Debra

  5. Debra ~~
I really enjoyed this past week's posts although I did not post comments to each of them. Love these scriptures :

Eph:3:19: And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

The love of Christ, fills us with all the fuless of God , which is in Christ Jesus our Lord !
    That's a shouting scripture to me ;-)

Col:2:9: For in him dwelleth ALL the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

He made me, He loves me, He saved Me, He will come again for me!

Thank you for the opportunity through this weeks posts to reflect on the beauty of His Holiness!
    Blessings, GG

  6. Hi Debra. I hope you're having a nice weekend. I've been printing and reading and making notes on the lessons all week. Everyday I would want to comment but kept saying wait until you spend more time studying the lesson. Everyday I would be eager to join in and would say by tonight I'll have a chance and somehow the time just kept getting away from me. I was disappointed with myself each day.

So now I'm going to just let you know that I think this series on God's nature has been great. I can read these passages over the years in the bible and even though I enjoy I haven't learned from them like I have this week. Having a group or a person such as yourself pose questions and comments makes such a difference. With me I can read the bible and take comfort in it but not necessarily know how to study it,what to look at, how to break it down. This has been a wonderful experience in learning.

Wednesday's post "Do you have GPS" really made me think about all the years I keep taking control out of God's hands and how many years I've spent loving him and always coming back to him but never doing things the easy way and just giving him complete control. But ever faithful he is still waiting for me, much like the parent of a teenager, taking me in his arms and saying would you like to talk about it? Are you ready to listen? I am so grateful that he is in my heart always guiding me back and never forsaking me.

Wishing all of you countless blessings.
    Love, Tracy :)
