May I share that my Dad who is now 64 , but was 59 when he had a triple by-pass 6 years ago ..he also has cardiovascular disease was immediately told to take a - z of medications after his surgery and since. His was also hereditary and partially from being and ex-smoker. He changed his way of eating as did we all ..and he dropped 60 lbs .. his cholesterol dropped to amazingly low levels ..and his good HDL's shot up to very healthy levels. His Dr. still wanted him on medications that when we researched them were very scary and gave way to causing other health issues. He opted not to take the meds against his dr.s wishes and continue with diet and excercise. 6 years later and he is doing awesome. His cholesterol is still very low and his tests come out better than ever even without the drugs. All this to say .. that we believe that dr.s have good intentions an ultimately prescribe drugs they are told to prescribe and which they make money off of prescribing but ultimately the decision has to be yours to choose rather these meds are in your best interest.

May God give you the wisdom to make a well informed choice for your life.

Blessings ..Sarasweetmagnoliasfarmhttp://www.sweetmagnoliasfarm.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787192881528040602.post-26291255250114237702011-12-21T14:32:26.297-06:002011-12-21T14:32:26.297-06:00Debra:

If we can hear Him and feel convicted we must listen. I agree that it is hard. I can relate. I am so happy you are listening to God about the meds. I could only wish my own mother would hear the words of God about her meds. God speaks through others sometimes and I know this is an area He is wishing to "discuss" with my mom but she is not hearing him. Great post.
